Shimano BR-RS305 is a flat mount brake caliper that is controlled mechanically, i.e. via cable pull. It blends beautifully into the overall appearance of your Road bike and, thanks to Ice-Tech heat dissipation (when using the appropriate rotors and pads), delivers sustained braking performance even under difficult conditions. At the same time, the New Super SLR system ensures optimum modulation. BR-RS305 comes with a pair of resin brake pads with cooling fins and (in the front version) an adapter for 140 and 160 mm brake rotors.

New Super SLR
SLR stands for Shimano Linear Response. The new Super SLR technology is based on a smoother operation of the brake caliper, lever and cable and optimises brake response and controllability.

Ice-Tech
Brake fading during prolonged uninterrupted operation, e.g. downhill, impairs braking performance. Shimano has introduced brake discs and pads with Ice-Tech technology to create a cooling technology for consistently high braking performance. The brake rotor has a three-layer stainless steel sandwich structure on the outside around an aluminium core. It radiates heat better and reduces a surface temperature from 400° C to 300° C, for example. The brake pads also have optional cooling fins. The design of the rotor in combination with the cooling fins results in a longer service life of the pads, less braking noise, less fading and a lower weight.
